«Weather and clothes»

Тема: Вдягаймось по погоді. Одяг на різні смаки.

Мета:

  • повторити й активізувати лексику уроку;

  • формувати вміння розповідати про погоду;

  • вдосконалювати вміння розповідати про одяг, який слід одягати в ту чи іншу погоду;

  • закріпити вживання граматичних часів в мовленні учнів (Present Simple Tense and Present Continuous Tense);

  • формувати навички діалогічного та монологічного мовлення, навички писемного мовлення;

  • формувати вміння орієнтуватися в потоці мовлення, робити узагальнюючі висновки;

  • тренувати учнів в аудіюванні;

  • розвивати пам'ять, увагу, уяву, логічне мислення;

  • виховувати почуття колективізму, дисциплінованість, повагу до друзів та однокласників, культуру ведення бесіди

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, екран, пректор, відеопрезентація, картки, роздатковий матеріал

PROCEDURE

I. Introduction

1. Greeting

Good morning pupils! Today, we have got an unusual lesson. There are some guests here. Let’s greet them. Good morning! Sit down, please. Put your hands on the desks. Will you smile? Well, I see you’re in a good mood today. So, don’t be shy, be active, attentive, work together and let’s begin our lesson.

2. Aim

Today we are going to talk about weather and what fashion clothes can we put on in different weather. I want to read you the proverb “There is no bad weather, there are bad clothes”.

3. Warming up

a) T: Look at the blackboard (screen) and read after me.

Ps: Summer is here. Spring has gone.

Better put your blue shorts on!

Autumn is here. Summer has gone.

Better put your sweater on!

Winter is here. Autumn has gone.

Better put your warm coat on!

Spring is here. Winter has gone.

Better put your raincoat on!

Different seasons, different clothes

For mums and pas, for boys and girls!

T: Now children, answer my questions.

-The weather is fine, isn’t it? Why?

-What are you wearing now?


b) Game “Snake”

T: Let’s revise some words. Look at the blackboard, you see a snake. Try to find words and match them with the picture.

1) Game “What season is it?”

T: Now children, listen to me and guess: what season is it?

1. It often rains. The leaves are falling. They are red and brown. (autumn)

2. It is hot and sunny. There are many flowers. They are red, yellow, pink and white. (summer)

3. It is warm. There are small green leaves on the trees. The birds are singing.(spring)

4. It is very cold. It often snows. The ground and trees are white. (winter)

2) Game “Word”.

T: The weather can be different in certain season. Let’s find out what it can be.

T: Look at the screen, you see a pretty lady in wonderful dress. Your task is to write down words: boys which mean weather:

5. Game “Weather”

T: On the board you can see more words and word combinations to describe weather. We are going to play the game “Weather.” You have to choose the picture and say what kind of weather you usually wear it in.

Pupil 1: I wear a raincoat when it is rainy.

6. Reading (Ex. 2. p. 160)

T: Before reading the text about Jasmine’s favourite day look at new words: quickly, to be in a hurry, to comb a hair, to put on, the front door, to rush, finally, to change, to go back.

Let’s read all together after me.

Try to match English word with Ukrainian.

T: On your desks you see the envelope. Pull out all words and try to make up a question and answer for it in writing (Work in pairs)

9. Game “ Body and clothes”

T: We have to wear a man. We have such words: shoes, jeans, scarf, gloves, hat, sweater, socks, glasses,

10. Game “Rhyming words”

T: We’ll rest a little. Look around. You see some words on the wall. Read it and complete rhyming word. You can change 1 or more letters. Use the theme “Clothes”and “Weather”.

Try to complete words using the topic “Clothes”. These letters can be at the beginning or ending of the word.

III. Summarizing



T.: Our unusual lesson is coming to the end. Do you like today’s lesson? What words did we use today? What have you especially liked? Your homework for the next time will be to makeup 5 sentences what do you wear in different weather. Your work today was excellent. Your marks are…. There are four (seasons) in the year. Each of them brings different (weather) and different dresses. When it is (hot) people wear (T-shirts) and (shorts), light (blouses) and (skirts), sport (shoes), sometimes (socks) and (sandals).
In (cold) weather people usually put on (warm) clothes: (jeans) and (trousers), (sweaters) and (jackets), (overcoats) and caps. In (winter) they wear (fur coats) and (fur caps), high (boots) and (mittens) or (gloves) and scarfs .
The proverb says: there is no bad weather, there are bad clothes.
