The theme: “The Leader of the XXI century.” Aim: To check up the pupils’ knowledge and to develop their ability and skill. Aids: Pictures, proverbs, posters, flags of different countries and etc. Plan of the party: I. Questions – answers. II. Polyglot. III. Pictures of the questions. IV. “If I were . . . .” V. Who is quick?

Chief of the party: - Good evening, dear children and the teachers! You are welcome! We are glad to see you in our party! Our pupils of the 8^th and 9^th forms will take part in the Leader of the XXI century. Now, let’s introduce with our heroes . . . Well, then we’ll elect the juries . . .

The 1^st task of our party is “questions and answers.” I’ll read the questions and you must to raise your flags very quickly if you are ready to answer the questions. Is it clear? So listen the questions. 1) Where is GB? (In the Atlantic Ocean.) 2) What kind of daily papers do you know? (“The Times,” “The Guardian,” “The Daily Telegraph,” etc.) 3) The number of population of GB? (59 million) 4) Why the people of GB always say “It’s raining cats and dogs”? (Because, it is always raining there.) 5) Is culture of GB poor or rich? (It’s rich.)

Our next task is “Polyglot.” I’ll read some proverbs in English. One of word of these proverbs are missing. You must find this word and give their Russian and Kazakh equivalents. Is it clear? Now, let’s begin: 1) . . . think, then speak. 2) . . . for all, all for . . . . 3) East or West, . . . is best. 4) Better late, than . . . . 5) . . . in need, is . . . indeed.

The 3^rd task of the party is called “Questions of Pictures,” because I’ll show you some pictures and you must say “What is it?” (double decker (bus), Big Ben, the symbols of England and Wales, Halloween.)

Now, there are two competitors in front of the blackboard. I’ll give them our next task. It called “If I were . . . (president or a director of school).” They will speak about their ambitions.

(twelve) 4) What is the English for “мұғалім”? (teacher) 5) Who is the president of America? (Barack Obama) 6) How many parts are divided GB? (four) 7) What is the Kazakh for “booking-office”?
